What will the moderators do?

You, as a moderator, would be assigned topics in which you could fast-track, return, or give comments on any ideas in that topic.

You would work as a team to develop the systems so that you can do your jobs better. 

The main purpose of the moderators is to:

• Make sure that everyone in the community is being treated fairly and with respect
• Encourage and coach users how to submit ideas ie: good summary lines, clear explanations, good spelling, etc
• Encourage and coach users on how to give feedback ie: constructive - how could the idea be better instead of what’s wrong with it
• Encourage and coach users to refine their ideas when they get feedback
• Clarify topic description when required so that users understand the real purpose of each topic
• Encourage ideas that help the community and that 3P CAN and WILL implement. ie: we don’t need good ideas that we cant implement
• Help come up with more topics

What are the benefits to me?

• To get a better understanding of the community and its objectives so that moderators can take on higher roles if they choose
• 500 points per week (to be reviewed after 1 month)
• 500 points for every idea my3P agrees to implement from your topics (to be reviewed after 1 month)

Over the next few days/weeks we will work towards developing a set of KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) so that we all know how it is working out.

How much should a moderator interfere?

The moderator role is new to my3p as a community so we need to together, try to define what the role is and what it is not as we see issues come up. Here are some initial thoughts...

The Moderator role I believe is...

• to find and correct ideas that are outside of the spirit of the IDEAfunL or that break the rules in some way
• to help people to make their ideas better but not to tell them what is or is not a good idea, even if we don’t like their idea - our responsibility is to help them make their idea better
• to stamp out abusive feedback quickly, our user wont stay if they are being verbally abused -
